Grants & Grant Programs


Florida Agriculture in the Classroom distributes Volunteer Grants in the spring and Teacher Grants in the fall. Volunteer Grants are available to members of state and county Farm Bureaus, University of Florida/IFAS extension and 4-H agents, master gardeners,  and others who are members of a non-profit association striving to educate students in kindergarten through 12th grade about the importance of Florida agriculture. Teacher Grants are available to general education teachers kindergarten through 12th grade, and agri-science teachers who have agriculture related classroom or schoolyard projects they would like to carry out.

Teachers in DeSoto, Hardee, Hillsborough, Manatee and Polk counties are eligible for $500 school garden grants.

Agriculture Industry Volunteers
Industry reps are invited to apply for Volunteer Grants
The deadline to apply for Florida Agriculture in the Classroom’s 2012 Volunteer Grants is March 16, 2012. Please check back for next year's deadline. Farm Bureau members, University of Florida IFAS Extension and 4-H agents, and other industry representatives are eligible. Grant funds should be used to help educate students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade about the importance of Florida agriculture.

 

The 2013 deadline is March 15, 2013.
